At Sharing Excess we are committed to effectively managing our resources for maximum impact. We're a lean team that makes the most out of every dollar donated. Explore our financials to see how we allocate funds and put your support directly towards feeding communities and fighting food waste.
Since 2018, Sharing Excess has turned $5 million in funding from 1,400 generous donors into an astounding $97 million worth of retail food cost savings for communities and families in need. That's more than 15X return on investment for every dollar donated.
From 2018-2022 Sharing Excess was fiscally sponsored by Federation of Neighborhood Centers, a registered 501(C)(3) nonprofit operating since 1906. Sharing Excess legally operated under FNC’s nonprofit EIN during these years, therefore our financials were accounted for on their 990s (learn more about fiscal sponsorship on their website: https://www.fncphilly.org/fiscal-sponsorship-at-fnc.html).
In May of 2021, Sharing Excess was officially granted 501(c)(3) independence by the IRS. Our first complete 990 and audit is on the way and will be completed for the 2022/2023 fiscal year. Stay tuned :)
