We create food sharing systems!

Here’s our story.

Sharing Excess has provided more than 40,000 meals in the last 10 months.

Some of our food sharing partners:

We work with small (but passionate) teams of people

to provide them with the resources, guidance, and technology they need

to help their community share food excess.

We divert

FOOD WASTE

to address

FOOD SCARCITY

Approximately 63 million tons of food is wasted each year in the United States due to a variety of logistical reasons, including sell-by dates, customer habits, and time/cost efficiency. On the other hand, approximately 1 in 7 people are considered food insecure nationally, and approximately 1 in 4 people are considered food insecure in Philadelphia. Our organization works to use these two problems as a solution to one another, food waste solving food scarcity.
